2013 born Heifers for Sale: Bulls for Sale:

Picture right shows herd sire Linton David at summer grazing in July 2012. David has now been SOLD and left Tetford for his new home in autumn 2013 when he had finished his work here. We were sorry to see David go, he has bred us some super cattle, but it is time he moved on having been here since 2008. We wish his new owners good luck and feel sure he will produce long, clean and well marked offspring for them just as he has done here for us. Selling David will enable his son Tetford Q Guild to cover more of the herd whilst Tetford Jedi and his son Tetford Quarryman will be used on David's daughters. It will also make way for other promising youngsters that we hope will come along.

2013 born bulls:

6 young bulls born in 2013 are looking very promising and are due to be pulled out from their cohorts shortly for halter training and that little extra attention. 3 are by Tetford Jedi, 1 by Linton David, 1 by Tetford Q Guild and 1 by Tetford Quarryman. Further details and photos will follow as soon as available1 

2012 born bulls: All now sold.

3 young bulls born in 2012 were selected for registration during the last week of May and were haltered and washed for the first time on Friday 7th June. Over the coming weeks they will receive further halter training.They had their feet trimmed and nose rings fitted on Monday 24th June and have now been vet inspected and are offered for sale fully registered. Tetford Talisman was sold on 12th July, leaving Top Gun and Toby still available. Talisman's dam Tetford Nutmeg was the last daughter of one of our foundation cows, Ash Mistletoe, who produced a long line of super offspring - including Tetford Fritillary, now suckling her 13th calf at the age of 15. She has many Breed Championships to her credit over a long and successful show career going back to 1999 as a Junior Heifer. Nutmeg's sire is Tetford Jedi, prolific show winner, now retired from showing but working as senior herd sire aged 11.

Top Gun's dam Tetford Laurel is a full sister to Tetford Fritillary who in her showing days won many Breed and Female Championships and is now suckling her 13th calf at the age of 15. Laurel has never been shown, probably because Fritillary took too much trailer space!

Toby is a full brother to Tetford Sovereign (sold 3rd May 2013) his dam Tetford Fritillary must be our best known and loved cow - now aged 15 she is retired from showing having won many Female and Breed Championships in her long and successful career which began in 1999 as a Junior Heifer. Calf number 13 was weaned at the end of October whilst number 14 is due February/March this year! She is a full sister to Laurel, dam of Top Gun and a half sister to Nutmeg, dam of Talisman.

Samson's dam Tetford Iris is by Tetford Bilbo who was by Glaven Galahad out of one of our foundation cows Whatton Lucy. Bilbo's paternal great grand dam was Ash Bobo who was also the dam of Glaven Alliance who in turn was the sire of the legendary Fishwick Kinsman who had such a significant influence across a number of famous herds as well as having been widely used with great success through AI.

Nancy's Dam is by Fishwick Olympic our original herd sire purchased from Peter Close in 1994. He was sire of many of our show winners including Tetford Clansman, Male and Reserve Breed Champion at the Royal Show and Male and Breed Champion at the Great Yorkshire in 1999 and Tetford Jedi our prolific show winner, retired from showing in 2012 at the age of 10 and still here working hard. Most of our older cows are by Fishwick Olympic including Tetford Fritillary, now 15 years old and suckling her 13th calf. Fritillary had a long and successful show career with numerous Female and Breed Championships to her credit.
